Scenic Design

 

Stanley A. Meyer has more than four dozen credits as a scenic designer/production designer/Illustrator that have earned him numerous awards and nominations including an American Theatre Wing Design Award nomination, a New York Outer Critics Circle Award nomination, a National Broadway Theatre Award nomination, a Los Angeles Ovation Award Nomination, THEA Award winner-Best Outdoor Nighttime Spectacular Peter Pan’s Neverland at Universal Studios Japan, IAPPA Brass Ring Award winner-Best Outdoor Daytime Spectacular for SeaWorld’s Blue Horizons – a stadium show that features a cast of dolphins, whales, birds, trainers, acrobats, and divers which can be seen both in Orlando and San Diego and numerous Los Angeles Drama Logue Awards for his work at the Grove Shakespeare Festival in Southern California. 
 
His critically acclaimed work includes the smash-hit show Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (the sixthlongest running show in Broadway history) and the world premiere of Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida (Alliance Theatre, Atlanta). Meyer also was the first recipient of The League of American Theatres and Producers, National Broadway Award for his design of the North America Tour of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
Recent credits include Barnum’s Funundrum, the 200th Anniversary of PT Barnum & the 140th Edition of the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus; Alice Cooper’s 2007 Tour and Cooper's 2009 and 2010 Theatre of Death Tour; Architectural redesign for SeaWorld Orlando’s iconographic sky tower; The Steve Miller Band 2010 Bingo! Tour; One Ocean – Shamu’s new spectacular show opening spring 2011 at all three of SeaWorld’s venues; the 2011 version of Disney on Ice and the upcoming musical version of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.
 
Meyer's work includes conceptual design and development for Nike, Sony, PGAV, Bounce Events, Inmotion Entertainment, Thinkwell Design & Production, Busch Gardens in Williamsburg and Tampa, Madame Tussaud’s Las Vegas and New York, Universal Studios Orlando,Clear Channel Family Entertainment’s national tour of Time for Teletubbies!, design segment for IKEA’s TV show, Space for Living, a plethora of Disney industrials, parades and special events including Mickey’s Nutcracker, filmed for The Disney Channel, Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors tour featuring the B-52s, the Clicks and Colton Ford, The New Nutcracker Ballet for The Lone Star Ballet, Texas, and Disney Live! Three Classic Fairy Tales, Feld Entertainment Inc.
